
Nikki Powell
Nikki is a former Federal Government Public Servant spending 15 years with Services Australia. Nikki is passionate about servicing the community, utilising policy, procedure and legislation to secure beneficial outcomes for those in need.
Nikki has had a varied career both within Australia and Abroad. From roles in Education in the UK to Teaching English as a second language in Japan, Nikki is committed to learning and self-development, quickly implementing new knowledge and skills. She takes a very proactive approach to steering and implanting change. She uses a holistic approach to deliver results with a capacity for original thought. She has demonstrated sound research, interpretation and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and achieve work objectives, adapting quickly to changing priorities. In her fast-paced customer focused Government position Nikki showed outstanding communication skills in multiple channels and with multiple stakeholders and is a very strong decision maker. Nikki has excellent interpersonal skills, and communicates with diplomacy, clarity and respect in all situations.
Nikki is no stranger to Grant and Funding Applications in her role as Child Care Director for a 75 place Outside School Hours Care setting. She was responsible for the operation of the centre, compliance, and program planning. The primary function was to take the centre through the Childcare Accreditation and Licencing procedures and applying for Sports grants and funding to provide sports equipment and additional sports activities for the children under the Australian Sports Commission Active After Schools Program. She was a workplace Mentor for the Open Learning Institute in Children’s Services and was responsible for rewriting the centre’s Policy and Procedure Manual and Staff and Parent’s Handbook for the service.
Nikki has a Bachelor of Arts (Majors in Journalism and Literature), Graduate Certificate in Human Services, Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Small Business Management, Diploma in Education (Montessori Education 3-6 years) Certificate in Child Psychology (with credit) and undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Inclusive Education.
